The image of athletes kneeling at the start of a match is no longer a strange sight, but the result of the impact the modern athlete has. Think Colin Kaepernick of Lebron James.
more than just an athlete, they are human beings with their passions, habits, fans, families, friends and business stakeholders. They are evolving into personal brands.
The boom in athlete-generated content has blurred the edges of the industry, the streaming technology and social media the most marketable athletes find themselves in a unique position. The digital age puts them closer to their fans, give them a stronger voice and provides sponsors new ways to leverage their client’s status.
But how do you develop a good personal brand as an athlete? And which brands fit that personality? To this end, WAVE Agency, together with Vlerick Business School, developed a tool that is based on the athlete’s personality traits and links them to brand values, which in turn can be linked to brand archetypes.
Through an online Cognitive style indicator test our partners of Vlerick Business School analyze your personality profile. A second online test assesses your personal values and assets. After a live interview (or depending on the sanitary situation a video call) the outcome of these test will form your unique personal branding passport.
